Resident blacksmith and farrier of Pilot Farm & Forge, Adam Degenstein offers beginner-friendly blacksmithing clinics for those with a passion for the trade. Participants will learn to handle essential tools such as hammers, tongs, and punches, how to operate a coke forge, and how to work all angles of the anvil. Adam will cover safety protocols of working in a blacksmithing shop including lighting, ventilation, posture, using tools effectively, monitoring temperatures in the forge etc. Participants will create small take-away projects by the end of the weekend. Get inspired to become a blacksmith or advance your skill set with an expert of the trade.
Participants will be required to wear safety glasses, steel toed boots and ear protection. Limited to 6 participants. Pre-registration required. Water and snacks provided, please bring lunch.
